Getting Your Face Healthy With Natural Remedies1.6.06

Liz is a fully qualified massage therapist so I asked her opinion about what she had come across lately with her readings. Actually we have a whole slew of books and other information that we reference often so that we can show you only relevant and accurate scientific research, so that you make the right purchasing decisions when it comes to fitness, diet or spa therapy products. I remember a book that I bought for Liz while at work (my old job used to have the book man come deliver tones of cool books on every imaginable topic). Liz was studying to be a massage therapist at the time so I fumbled across a book called "1001 Natural Remedies" by Laurel Vukovic who is a writer for Natural Health Magazine.

Because we have just recently been blessed with our little girl, Liz had to take some time off her massage therapy practice and she has started researching new ideas and remedies very recently. Laurel Vukovic's book is really a fantastic source of quality information. I asked Liz what she had read up about and she said that she found a fantatsic excerpt from the book that really interested her about Astringents and Toners...I looked at Liz blankly..."Yes honey, astringents & toners".

So what is an astringent? I found a definition at
ehealthmd.com "a substance that causes tissue to dry and shrink by reducing its ability to absorb water". So this means that an astringent helps tighten the pores remove excess oil from the skin. Natural sources of astringents are witch hazel, peppermint, yarrow, and sage.

From 1001 Natural Remedies skin toners are "gentler and rely on soothing ingredients. Natural toners include rose water, aloe, chamomile and lavender.

Cool. If you are looking for a great read about natural remedies try Laurel Vukovic's "1001 Natural Remedies" which you can buy at Amazon.com (aff)
here.

Also if you are looking for quality astringent or toner products at up to 1/2 price check out our review of SpaLook.com here.
